I'd feel like its a safe bet to say that most of us who set routes are fair active outdoor climbers as well. Getting outside a few times a week is ideal for me. What new areas are you excited about? What about the project of yours? Are you poised to take it down and just waiting for the right combination of timing, humidity, friction, and elbow grease? Let's hear it!
For me, I'm psyched on the classic New England boulder called, "Stand and Deliver" at Pawtuckaway State Park in New Hampshire. Its clean, proud, and super in a aesthetic environment.

So coming from a small gym in Florida where rocks are far and few, we did a lot of gym climbing in anticipation of that golden ticket to the Chatty area. Our setting was still geared to getting the psych high for outdoor projects, or outdoor climbing in general, instead of competitions.
Getting back on topic, I'm waiting for the snow to go away before hoping on Dragon Turns at the Gunks, NY.
