So we host this bouldering comp that has all problems topping out. Many little guys want to be included but I know USA Climbing regulates feet no higher than 10' up for the youngest categories. What do you guys think about exceeding that in a non-USA sponsored comp? Comp is Feb 7th at The Edge Halfmoon in Upstate NY if anyone is interested in competing.

If you're prepared for a D kid to pitch off the top of a boulder, then sure. I think USAC's regulations are pretty fair in that regard, and the inclusion of downclimb jugs. If you clientele is going to be mostly adults, then you probably have nothing to worry about. You could set a minimum age limit. Or make exceptions for kids that young with an optional finish jug?

I agree with Aubrey. Another option may be to set to the meat of the boulder to the 13-14 foot mark and then have a mega, 5.6 jug haul to the top.
